Shopping

Before you leave your home for the airport make sure you have at least one empty suitcase with you! Shopping in Florida is excellent value for money. This is particularly true for summer clothes and beachwear.
The Vine Street/ Irlo Bronson Highway (US 192) is full of souvenier, clothes and electronic shops of which a number tend to charge tourist prices so it is best to shop around for best offers.
Almost next door to Medieval Times on the US 192 is Wal-mart, which sells everything from clothes for adults and children to electronics (including computer games) to household goods and food. This is open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. It has a very large car park.
Also on the US192 are shops that sell designer jeans and T-shirts etc. with labels such as Calvin Klein, No Fear, Boss, Levis and Wrangler. Many of these names can be found at factory outlet shops some are on the 192 and some on the 536 where names such as Gap, Nike, Reebok, Osh Kosh B"Gosh children's wear and designer shoes can be obtained.

International Drive is also a very famous shopping street. At the north end of International Drive there is the famous Belz 'factory outlet' shopping centre. The shopping complex is truly enormous and visitors soon realise what the locals mean when they say 'shop till you drop'.
For quality and luxury shopping the Florida Mall along Sand Lake Road No. 482 is a must for any serious shopper, with stores such as Sears, Saks, J. C. Penney and many more. Toys 'R' Us is also located in front of the Florida Mall.

Nearest Amenities
The nearest fast food outlet is Pizza Hut which is situated next to Winn Dixie Supermarket on Cypress Parkway and this has a take away or delivery only service. In the same location is a Denny's family restaurant which is reasonably priced.Other amenities in the complex include Video Rentals, a Liquor store, post office and bank. Half a mile further along the road is the Poinciana golf club which has a restaurant and pool, and there are several other golf clubs within easy reach of the villa. Ten minutes from the villa at the Junction of US17/US192 are McDonalds and KFC which are in the Publix complex. A little further on is the 192 (Vine St/Irlo Bronson Highway) and this has restaurants of all types and price ranges to suit any taste or budget

Restaurants
The restaurants along the 192 range from all of the well known fast food outlets, plus a few that may be new, to steakhouses such as Outback (try the outback special) with happy hour until 7.00pm, or seafood restaurants such as Red Lobster or Shells. If you like entertainment with your meal try one of the many dinner shows such as Mediaeval Times, Arabian Nights or have a Japanese Teppanyaki with the chef preparing your meal at the table. For every day eating it is worthwhile looking out for special offers and vouchers in the local 'coupon' magazines.

The food at some major attractions can be expensive by US standards. Tips are not included in the restaurant bills and tipping in the US is more generous than in UK, typically between 10 to 20%
